Cloud & Infrastructure Architect, based in Dubai, UAE.
I am a cloud and infrastructure architect with over 15 years across EMEA and the GCC. I design resilient, highly available hybrid-cloud environments, and I build and run them as well. My core depth is in virtualisation, storage and networking, and over time I have grown it into data, application and security architecture.
I lead teams comfortably, but the core of my week has to be technical: architecture, solutioning, and building. I am at my worst in roles that are mostly politics and firefighting, and at my best when I am designing or making something. Right now I operate a live production data platform that I architected on my own, which keeps the hands-on side sharp.
A recurring thread in my work is rightsizing: taking vendor-produced sizing and sense-checking it into something that actually holds up, on real contention ratios and real workloads rather than a spec sheet. It is a quieter skill than headline architecture, and it is the one clients remember.

Container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher), application and integration patterns (REST and SOAP APIs, SQL and NoSQL, caching with Redis), AI-augmented workflow tooling (RAG agents, Claude Code for IaC scripting).

GCC regulatory landscape, data sovereignty, GDPR, ISO standards, PCI, CISSP fundamentals (completed the course, did not sit the exam).
