Senior technical authority for sovereign and multi-cloud solution architecture across the GCC.

• Lead architect on complex hybrid solutions combining VMware sovereign cloud with AWS, Azure and OCI, built for performance, resilience, security and cost.
• Technical advisor to government and enterprise clients on data residency, sovereignty and GCC compliance.
• Turn vague business and regulatory requirements into scalable, highly available reference architectures, and de-risk them with proof-of-concept environments.
• Built the presales discovery and rightsizing function from scratch: LiveOptics-based discovery, BOQ calculators, and a presales intake automation now used across the wider organisation.
• Built an AI presales agent on Claude that grew from ad-hoc sessions into a structured project and then a reusable skill, dealing first-hand with context loss, hallucinations and carrying project memory across sessions.

Exponential-e

Technical design lead for managed cloud and IaaS, mostly public sector and healthcare.

• Supporting solutions architect on a large public-sector healthcare imaging platform: contributed to infrastructure sizing, built the bill of quantities with the hardware vendor, and ran ISV compatibility checks against vendor guidelines.
• Led technical discovery and V2V/P2V migration planning (Zerto, VMware) for public-sector legacy estates.
• Acted as technical authority on large public-sector and education tenders, turning requirements into resilient infrastructure designs, HLDs and statements of work.

iomart

R&D and solution architecture in iomart’s IaaS division, spanning around £35M of combined turnover across five brands.

• Early hands-on GPU cloud hosting (NVIDIA Grid K2 on Supermicro, 2014/15): built the BOQ and pricing for a customer VDI deal, racked and built the hardware myself, and ran a PoC on partitioning the GPUs to VMs that found the driver limits of the day.
• Ran the technical validation of high-density compute nodes (NVIDIA Tesla P40): hardware compatibility, thermal stability and performance baselines for AI/ML proofs of concept.
• Worked out power envelopes, cooling and rack density for high-density GPU deployments.
• Designed cloud hosting off the back of technical discovery (on-prem VMware and Azure), with sensible instance sizing and high availability across zones.
• Interim Deployments Manager (2014): stood up a new deployments team and did plenty of the hands-on work myself — racking servers, building Windows, VMware ESXi and Linux, and standing up networking and storage clusters.
